If you keep track of your customers' birthdays in Altegio, it's a good idea to send them birthday wishes. To do this, our service offers the option to send automated birthday greeting templates.
You can find these templates in the "Settings" → "Message Templates" → "Altegio" → "Birthday Greetings" section.
In this section, you can either create a new template by clicking the blue “Create Template” button or edit an existing one by clicking the pencil icon in the “Actions” column.
Clicking either of these buttons will open the template editing mode.
"Enter Template Name" – Enter the template name in this field. For your convenience, we recommend choosing a name that indicates which event the template applies to (for example, "Post-Visit Message").
"Channel" – in this field, you select the channel on which the template will run. If set to "Default," the template will run across a channel cascade (read more about channel cascades in this article). (WIP hyperlink)
“Number of days to send the template (0 – on the birthday)” – in this field, you specify how many days before the birthday the template should be sent.
"Limit on the number of messages per hour" – this setting reduces the number of messages recipients receive per hour from this template. For example, if you want customers to receive 20 reminder messages before their appointment within one hour, setting this value to 2 will ensure customers receive only 2 messages per hour over a 10-hour period.
"Enable the channel menu for the user" – this setting allows the template to be launched from the main menu. For example, if you select the main menu activation option (which is "#") in the field, then when a customer sends messages in response to the reminder template that activate main menu items, they will receive the corresponding message in reply.
