Instructions: How to Set Up Cascading Sending
Step 1. Go to the settings section
Open Settings → Delivery Channels. This section determines which channels will be used to send notifications to customers and in what order.
Step 2. Set up the default cascade
In the “Delivery Channels” section, you can set the default cascade—the sequence of channels that will be applied to all notifications unless specific rules are configured for them. For example: WhatsApp → Telegram → SMS.
This setting serves as the default sending logic for all message types that do not have individual settings.
Step 3. Configure the cascade for specific types of Altegio notifications
In addition to the general cascade, you can specify a custom channel sequence for specific types of Altegio notifications. This is useful when it’s important to use only a specific channel for certain messages—without falling back to backup channels.
For example, for confirmation codes, you can configure delivery exclusively via SMS, bypassing WhatsApp and Telegram—this improves delivery reliability for critical notifications where delays or channel errors are unacceptable.
To do this:
- Find the desired notification type in the list.
- Set a separate channel sequence for it (or a single channel, if a cascade isn’t required).
- Save your changes.
Done
After saving the settings, the system will automatically apply the specified logic: notifications without individual rules will follow the default cascade, while notifications with their own settings will follow the channel sequence specified for them.
