Instructions: Setting Up the Message.Help Integration with Zapier (Using Salesforce as an Example)
Let’s look at setting up an automation where creating a new contact in Salesforce triggers an automatic message to be sent to the customer via Message.Help.
Step 1. Create a new Zap
Log in to your account at zapier.com and click Create Zap. Each Zap consists of two main parts: a trigger (the event that starts the automation) and an action (what should happen in response).
Step 2. Set up the trigger in Salesforce
- In the app selection field for the trigger, select Salesforce.
- Select “New Contact” as the event.
- Authorize the connection by entering your Salesforce account credentials.
- Select a specific object or filter conditions if you need to send messages only for certain contacts (for example, based on a specific status or lead source).
- Test the trigger—Zapier will load sample data from a real contact to ensure the connection is working correctly.
Step 3. Configure the action in Message.Help
- In the app selection field for the action, select Message.Help.
- Select “Send a message” as the event.
- Authorize the connection and enter your Message.Help account credentials.
- Specify the delivery channel (e.g., WhatsApp) and fill in the message parameters:
- recipient’s phone number—match it to the phone field in the Salesforce contact record;
- message text or a selected template;
- additional variables, if using a template with dynamic fields (for example, the customer’s name).
Step 4. Map the data fields
At this stage, it’s important to correctly map fields from Salesforce to Message.Help fields—for example, the contact’s name and phone number from Salesforce are automatically populated into the corresponding message fields. This allows you to personalize every message sent without having to enter data manually.
Step 5. Test and enable the Zap
- Click Test—Zapier will send a test message based on real data to ensure everything is working correctly.
- Check whether the message arrived in Message.Help and reached the recipient.
- If the test is successful, enable the Zap by switching it to the active “On” status.
Done
Once the Zap is enabled, every new contact created in Salesforce will automatically trigger a message to be sent to the customer via Message.Help—without any action required from the manager.
